IT seems there are a few illegal wheel clamping signs appearing in Cinderford. The Sue Ryder shop being one of them and a private car park in a road opposite the rear of the Palace cinema. Under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 it is illegal to clamp cars parked on private land so they are pointless signs, although they may be thought of as a deterre. and Vehicle Licensing Agency), the police and VOSA (Vehicle and Service Operator Agency) can clamp on private land as can private firms on their behalf. If a car is illegally clamped the clamp/lock can be removed but the person could be taken to court for criminal damage as can the clamper for illegal clamping. I realise it can be frustrating for someone to park in your space but just put a barrier up that can only be accessed by people authorised to park there.
