THE ‘Grand Pier’ half marathon at Weston-Super-Mare was recently completed by Vin Marshall, from Lifton, to raise funds for the Lifton Community Centre.

The race was an undulating, two lap course, which was testing enough, but the strong winds off the sea added another dimension.

Vin was pleased to finish in a time of 2.10.27.

So far, she has raised £315 towards the furnishing of the centre, which is due to be built in 2017.
