THE second village clean up event was held recently, organised by the Holsworthy Hamlets Parish Council.
Volunteers came to help and collected rubbish for the Staddon Road Village Clean Up, which was organised by Holsworthy Hamlets Parish Council — a similar event was held on April 22, in Chilsworthy.
There were 18 volunteers on the day, who gave up their time on a Saturday morning to come out and clean up in the areas of Staddon Road, Winterland Lane and Chasty.
The volunteers collected up litter and rubbish from the pavements and verges as well as washing the road signs and signposts.
The volunteers were treated to bacon rolls and hot dogs once they’d finished working and thanks were expressed to David and Christine Campbell for cooking the food.
Holsworthy Hamlets Parish Council also expressed its thanks to all the volunteers who came to the event and to the previous one held in Chilsworthy.
