Newly-released video shows Cornwall's Welcome Home trees shining magnolia pink to usher in the Spring.
The trees have been specially lit after the annual declaration that Spring has arrived by the organisation Great Gardens of Cornwall. They announced on Monday that enough magnolias were in bloom across six of the member gardens, including Trewithen and The Lost Gardens of Heligan, for Spring to have officially arrived.
The trees, bordering the A30 at Cookworthy Knapp, have become a much-loved landmark for Cornish residents returning home, signalling that they are about to cross the border.
Toby Ashworth, proprietor of The Nare Hotel on the Roseland Peninsula, created the magnolia-inspired illumination to shine a light on Spring’s early arrival to Cornwall
He founded the organisation Cornwall’s Spring Story in partnership with the Great Gardens of Cornwall in 2012.
