A TV and radio celebrity will be cycling 250-miles from Bude to raise money for charity.
Heart Breakfast’s Amanda Holden will be pushing herself to the limit as she cycles a lengthy 250-miles from Bude, all the way to London in a bid to raise funds for Global’s Make Some Noise.
‘Amanda Holden’s Big Ride To Work’ will see Amanda cycle from Bude to the Heart studios in Leicester Square over the course of five days, clocking up a gruelling eight hours of cycling a day.
On Monday, October 7, Amanda will begin her challenge in Cornwall, cycling through Somerset, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Surrey to get to Heart HQ in London’s Leicester Square on Friday, October 11 — just in time for Global’s Make Some Noise Day.
Global’s Make Some Noise, changes lives across the UK by funding vital projects delivered by small charities — tackling issues such as mental health, poverty and homelessness.
Amanda is no stranger to tough challenges, having previously completed the Three Peaks Challenge, a 10,000 feet skydive and climbing to the top of Blackpool Tower.
Amanda Holden said: “I can’t quite believe that I’m going to be cycling over 250 miles from my mum's house in Cornwall to London for Global's Make Some Noise — it’s a massive challenge!
“I’m told it’s not going to be particularly flat so I’m gonna have buns of steel by the end of this! Knowing that every mile I cover will help raise funds for those local projects providing a lifeline directly to those who need it most is what will keep me going. Plus, I’ll get the nicest Cornish sendoff from my mum with a big cuddle!
“I can’t wait to see how much we can raise for Global’s Make Some Noise, I know we’ll get incredible support from our amazing listeners. Their generosity truly means the world, and together we can help those projects that make such a difference in their communities.”
Suzanne Ryder-Richardson, director at Global Goodness, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Amanda who once again is taking on a massive challenge to raise money for Global’s Make Some Noise.
“Every single donation to Amanda’s challenge can help to provide a lifeline to those who need it most, in the heart of communities, perhaps even on your doorstep. Right now, millions of people across the UK are facing some of life’s toughest challenges including life-limiting diagnosis, grieving a loss, battling homelessness, or feeling isolated and alone.
“Donations have never been more crucial. Amanda we’re all cheering you on every pedal of the way!”
