SCOUTS, Cubs and Beavers collected their glittering prizes at a presentation ceremony held in Bude Methodist Church Hall.
The awards to the 3rd Bude Rowan Scout Group, were presented by Bude-Stratton mayor Cllr Lea Deeley and assistant county commissioner Gareth Phillips.
Cllr Deeley presented the awards for the most outstanding Scout, Cub and Beaver, medals for the most improved Scout, Cub and Beaver and medals for the best newcomer to their section for a Scout, Cub and Beaver.
Mr Phillips presented chief Scout gold awards, chief Scout silver awards and chief Scout bronze awards.
The ceremony was also attended by parents, family friends, the committee, leaders and helpers.
The awards ceremony followed the group’s annual meeting at which it was explained that the group has this year teamed up with the Methodist Church for the challenge to fill a shoe-box with items for children less fortunate in the world.
A special service to bless the boxes will be taking place on Sunday, October 25 at Bude Methodist Church. Thanks were expressed to all who donated items for the shoe-boxes.
