ONE of Europe's most dangerous occupations has claimed another local victim.

Fisherman and father of three Shane Hooper, 33, perished when the scalloper JMT sank near the Eddystone lighthouse off Plymouth.

The body was recovered in the area, but the skipper Mike Hill has not been found.

The close-knit Teignmouth fishing community, which has suffered several losses over the years, was in shock at the latest tragedy, and the fleet did not go to sea on Friday last week as a mark of respect.<
