SATURDAY, DECEMBER 1 saw the sixth annual senior citizens’ Christmas dinner take place at Camelford Primary School hall.

Fifty-six members of the community were served a two-course meal, cooked beautifully by Peggy Ellison and waitered by six of her Brownies.

Mayor, Cllr Kirsty Ferguson, presented local couple Jeff and Shirley Chapman with a special card to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. The guests were entertained by North Coast Harmony, a local harmony group, who sang an array of carols. The big man — Father Christmas — arrived bearing gifts of homemade mince pies.

A tremendous afternoon was had by all. To finish off, a draw took place for a hamper of goodies. Cllr Ferguson asked Melanie Baber from North Coast Harmony to pick a ticket and the lucky recipient was Derrick Baker.
