MEMBERS of the Tregadillett community marked 80 years since D-Day. 

The service was led by Rev David Miller. During the service, ‘The Tribute’ was read which mentioned all those various groups who were involved 80 years ago. 

A spokesperson from the event explained: “It was surprising after the service to discover just how many of those present had had some family member involved.

“One person did not know her father was involved in the D-Day landings, until she found it, in an old diary after he had deceased. It was felt that so many of them took their memories, the ugliness of war, with them, to their graves.”
