THE winners of a prestigious planting award in a North Cornwall town has been announced.
Camelford in Bloom, organised by the town council, invited entrants to participate in the annual competition, with judging taking place during July to decide who among the entrants would win the award.
The winners of the three categories were announced, with the town council congratulating all who took part in a competition which they reported saw a big increase in the amount of participants battling it out for the town’s best floral display.
A spokesperson for Camelford Town Council, which organised the event, said: “Camelford in Bloom this year saw a big increase in the number of those taking part (thank you!) - and there were some incredibly well kept gardens on show!
“Judging took place a couple of weeks back, and so Camelford Town Council have been keeping lips tightly sealed... until now!
“Camelford Town Council would like to say a huge congratulations to the winners:
“Mark and Helen, the winners of the front/back garden category, Peggy, the winner of the allotment category and the Camelford Conservative Club, which won the commercial display category.”
