The Tintagel Sea Angling Club was formed on March 12, 1979, by a group of like-minded anglers that wanted to promote participation in the sport. Since then the club has gone through many changes.

Conservation has become an ever-increasing concern for anglers who have seen numbers of fish decline due to pollution and over fishing by commercial boats. Subsequently over the years, fishing techniques have changed and there is now much more emphasis on light sport fishing and the return of fish not destined for the dinner table.

The club organises shore, boat and junior competitions throughout the year with the opportunity to compete for over 30 trophies that are awarded at the annual presentation evening. Members also benefit from discounted tackle supplies, affiliation to the Cornish Federation of Sea Anglers and inclusive public liability insurance.
