THERE were some strange sights in the village of Egloskerry recently.
All through the village, outside houses, leaning on gate posts and sitting on benches, were a varied collection of 12 scarecrows — all taking part in the annual scarecrow competition!
Judged by two people from outside of the village, the winner was announced at the ‘Cuppa Tea and Slice of Cake’ event at Egloskerry Village Hall on Sunday, September 11.
The popular Cornish Tin Man won the day, made by Phyllis Aldridge with help from her granddaughter Yasmin.
Donations from the tea raised £67 for hall funds, refreshments provided by Phyllis Aldridge, Dawn Fenn, Pam Griffiths, Ann Pennington and Sarah Uren.
