STAFF at Lewtrenchard Manor were delighted when they received not one but three awards within a week — whilst retaining three of their former titles.

They started off the week with the ‘Visit England Rose 2017 Award’ for recognition of service excellence. A spokesperson said: “We received this award for going the extra mile to provide excellent customer service. It is only awarded to a few businesses every year.”

Next up came the 2018 ‘Trencherman’s Awards’, in which Lewtrenchard Manor received the ‘Best Front of House Team’ award. The award was picked up by restaurant manager Vicky Lee and assistant restaurant manager Jacob Knight.

Adding to their success the manor was awarded silver in the ‘Small Boutique Hotel of the Year’, Visit Devon 2017 awards. Duncan Murray, general manager and Matthew Peryer, head chef, collected the award.

Completing their set of awards, the manor managed to retain its ‘3 Star’ status, its ‘Gold Award’ and its ‘Breakfast Award’ following a surprise visit from a Visit England assessor.

The spokesperson said: “We have maintained our 3 Stars as well as our Gold Award and our Breakfast Award for the fourth year running in our recent assessment from Visit England and received 100% in the hospitality and friendliness section of the quality rating; receiving 87% in our overall quality rating.”

They added: “We would once again like to thank those who have voted for us, our loyal customers and patrons, for helping us earn our recognition.”
