ONCE again Anglers Paradise in Halwill presented a number of cheques to local charities and groups from funds they have raised throughout the year.
A total of £9,300 was donated to local charities and groups and raised trough various means such as events and sales.
Owner, Zyg Gregorek, said: “The week before last we raised around £3,000, through various events such as bingo, race night and pool and darts competitions. We even have our own wine labels printed and sold, with the money going in to the charity pot.
“This added to the whole total of £9,300 that we will donate to several different places.”
Money was donated to North Devon Hospice’s outreach centre in Holsworthy The Long House, Holsworthy and Appledore RNLI groups, the Ashwater defibrillator fund, Scallywags Pre School in Halwill, the Food Bank in Holsworthy and Devon Air Ambulance.
Zyg said: “For the last 15 to 20 years we have been raising money for the Devon Air Ambulance. Overall I think we have raised around £15,000 for the charity, about £12,678 of that was raised since 2012.
“We try and donate money to local charities each year and do our bit to support these causes.”
