CHEPSTOW drivers are urged to remove all valuables from their vehicles after five cars were broken into in a week.
The spate of thefts saw items including a wallet, DVD player, camera, glasses, sports kit and a case stolen from cars in Thornwell, Shirenewton and St Mary's.
Inspector Lysha Thompson said: "We've said it lots of times before but please check your cars to make sure any valuables are either taken with you or hidden from view in the boot.
"Thieves take no time at all to smash a window and grab what's inside. A 30 second check could save you cost of a smashed window, the trouble of getting it fixed and the cost of losing your valuables."
