TALLULAH Thomas from Tresmeer, near Launceston, recently celebrated her 12th birthday and decided that she would donate the presents given to her from her friends to Children’s Hospice South West.
Tallulah visited CHSW’s Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell recently to drop off her birthday presents, where they will be given to the poorly children cared for at the hospice, as well as their siblings, this Christmas.
Tallulah knows all too well the work of hospices, as her dad was cared for by North Devon Hospice and sadly died in 2009. Following this, Tallulah has a strong awareness of the work of hospices and decided that she would like to support a children’s hospice and help other children of her age.
The presents have been gratefully received by the care team at Little Harbour, who said: “This is such a kind and generous gesture from Tallulah, and we are so grateful. Thank you so much for thinking of the families that we support at this time of year, they will be so pleased.”
CHSW has three children’s hospices across the South West, including Little Harbour in St Austell. The charity supports children with life limiting and life threatening illnesses, who sadly will not live into adulthood.
The hospices offer short breaks, respite, palliative care, emergency stays, as well as end of life care and bereavement support for as long as the family want.
