AIMING for a win, the Holsworthy Army Cadet Force (ACF) recently took part in an indoor air rifle range set up in the Youth Centre.
After permission was granted to operate the indoor air rifle range the cadets have been able to practise their target shooting skills.
The cadets are now running two extra training evenings a month, with a concentration on air rifle target shooting along with first aid development and administration of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Since the additional sessions were set up, in December, the cadets have achieved seven ‘pass badges’, one ‘Class 1’ badge and a ‘Marksman’ badge.
They have also seen five young people enrolling onto the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Detachment Commander 2Lt Jim Harvey said: “I would like to thank everyone involved with making these additional training sessions possible.
“The acquisition of an air rifle range is a fantastic step forward in providing opportunities for the cadets to develop their marksmanship principles and skills.”
The Holsworthy Army Cadet Force parade every Monday evening, from 7pm until 9.15pm, at Holsworthy Community College.
