THE Whitstone Cancer Research UK Committee were delighted to be able to organise another Big Breakfast on October 1, at St Anne’s Hall after a break of a couple of years due to COVID.
A spokesperson explained: “Our committee all worked so well together in the many roles from taking the orders, cooking, waitressing, to washing up! Special thanks go to our three young recruits Caitlyn Retallick, Freya Bailey and Arabella Uglow who did an amazing job as waitresses. We hope to see them back at our next one!”
Thanks to the generous donations of sausages and bacon by Cornish Farmhouse Bacon Co, Eggs from the Fowler family, sauce from Whitstone Spar Shop, a very kind villager who paid for the hire of the hall, donations from people who couldn’t attend and other ingredients from committee members the day made a huge profit totalling £1,310.
The spokesperson added: “Of course this wouldn’t have been raised without the support of so many local people so thank you to everyone who came along!”
