Crowds lined the streets to welcome the Duke of Cornwall back to the county.
The tour, to mark Prince Charles’ 70th anniversary as the Duke of Cornwall, saw the heir to the throne and the Duchess of Cornwall visit Launceston’s Market Square first this morning.
While much of the UK is preparing for record-breaking temperatures, rain hit Launceston with umbrellas and raincoats more visible than sunglasses.
The royal couple arrived in a motorcycle cavalcade, watched by excited children and adults alike who were determined not to let the weather spoil the occasion.
Prince Charles and Camilla are due to tour a farmers’ market and watch the inaugural Launceston dance parade, performed by local children.
They are then due to attend the Innovative Farmers 10th anniversary at a nearby farm.
