A TRUE Haslemerian celebrated her 105th birthday at Shottermill House on Monday. Inspirational centenarian Miriam Cheesman is still bright as a button and puts her extreme longevity down to a happy life and a healthy diet as well as her strong Christian faith.

The youngest child of Haslemere timber merchant Jesse Mann, Mrs Cheesman had seven brothers and sisters and was married twice.
