ST BREWARD Primary School held a Miniature Garden Competition on Friday, June 25 as part of the preparations for the village's Carnival Week.

This was the first event in the week of activities arranged by villagers in support of the carnival, which took place on Saturday, July 3.

Following a morning session on how to prepare and make a miniature garden with the help of members from the St Breward Gardening Club, sponsors of the event, the judges set about the unenviable task of choosing the winners from such a high standard of entries in the competition.

Parents got the opportunity to view the children's efforts in the afternoon, when they were put on display.

Aimee Cox was the Foundation Year winner, Will Hoskin in Years 1 and 2, Gwendolen Evans in Years 3 and 4, and Jack Coleman in the Years 5 and 6 category.
