LAST year two people in St Breward wanted to learn about photography and their cameras, so they put a notice in the parish magazine to see if any other villagers had similar interests. Quite a few were interested and last November, St Breward Camera Club was born.

During the weekend, of June 30 to July 1, the club held its first exhibition at The Memorial Hall, with the theme being 'The Diamond Jubilee through the Camera Club Lens.'

A good variety of photographs were displayed, including views of the Women's Institute (WI) puppet show, the jubilee street party, the blessing and planting of a sapling oak, the lighting of the beacon at the end of the evening, and some of the boats which formed part of the Royal Flotilla on the River Thames.
