NORTH Cornwall police have issued a plea for the area’s motorists to drive considerately, after the issue was a ‘recurring theme’ at a recent surgery.

Following a beat surgery in Lawhitton, Devon and Cornwall Police are asking drivers to slow down after the problem was raised by a number of residents attending the session.

A spokesperson from the force said: “There was a recurring theme with everyone we spoke to; please consider whether your speed is appropriate for the conditions as well as the posted limit.

“Your speed through a village, on slippery wet roads, with children playing, and pedestrians on the roadside should be considerate of the hazards.

“Thanks for driving considerately.”
