Local arts charity Span Arts is opening its doors to the public to showcase and celebrate the work they have done and to share their newest ventures.

On Wednesday, June 24, the Span Arts office in Narberth invites the public to be a part of their AGM starting at 6 pm. The AGM is a chance to hear Mary Bell, the chairperson's report, find out what has been happening at Span Arts during the past year and, most importantly, to input ideas for the upcoming year of Span Arts activities.

Span Arts is a charity based in Narberth, which aims to deliver a diverse and exciting range of performances and workshops, including theatre, music, dance and storytelling as well as the annual Narberth A Cappella Voice Festival. The charity was set up in 2001 and has a long history of delivering a wide range of community arts projects on top of their dynamic programme of events.

Over the past year, Span Arts has played host to a rich variety of performance from world class beatboxer Bellatrix to world famous a capella ensemble Black Voices.

Speaking on the last year at Span Arts, manager Gwendoline Watson commented: "We have had a fabulous year, with a jam-packed programme featuring artists new and old. We are particularly excited to have begun work on the Big Lottery funded Cheerful Project and welcome our three new team members who will be springing into action soon; taking the arts to the heart of the community, not just in Narberth, but in surrounding areas of rural Pembrokeshire."

At 7.30 pm, following the AGM, The Cheerful Project will host a networking and nibbles evening. This is an exciting opportunity to meet with Span Arts trustees, volunteers and staff, as well as friends and members over a drink and a bite to eat. You will also be able to go on a tour of the Queens Hall with Span Arts' volunteer co-ordinator Jessica Polkinghorne.

The evening promises to be fun as well as informative.

If you would like to attend the AGM or go along afterwards for nibbles, please RSVP by emailing [email protected]">[email protected] or calling Span Arts on 01834 869323 and asking to speak with someone from The Cheerful team.

Span Arts relies on funding and membership to continue its work in Pembrokeshire and the local areas. To find out more about Span Arts visit: http://www.span-arts.org.uk">www.span-arts.org.uk
