More than 50 trucks convoyed through Bude recently, celebrating some inspirational local families.
On Sunday, June 9, 55 trucks and vans departed from Bude Rugby Club and convoyed through the town as part of an annual celebration of inspirational families, who have experienced various difficulties in their lives.
South West Truckers collect the selected community members and take them on a fun filled day out to The Milky Way Adventure Park in Bideford.
The passengers were excited to wave to the crowds that had gathered in abundance, to cheer them on as they went past. A day of fun was had at The Milky Way, with everyone testing their vocal cords by screaming on the rollercoasters, watching the fantastic birds of prey show and bumping along on the dodgems to list just a few.
At 3.30pm, the passengers and carers congregated back at the lorries, to meet their drivers and convoy back to Bude Rugby Club.
Jo Vanstone, one of the event’s organisers told the Post: “This was another very special day and it was a joy to see the smiles on our passengers faces. “Without everyone, this event would not be possible. Also, a very special thankyou to all of our guests for joining us for our convoy. That's a big ten four until Convoy 2025, over and out! Reggie and Jo Vanstone”
