LOCAL residents and budding astronomers will be excited to know that a partial solar eclipse should be available to see in Cornwall today.

At around 7.55pm tonight, Cornwall will catch the tail end for a brief moment of the full solar eclipse which is set to take place in the the US, Canada and Mexico.

Hopefully the rain steers clear and we are able to look into the sky as the next full solar eclipse won't take place in the UK until 2090!
