A SOCIAL club is opening its doors to support those in need during the colder winter months.
Treburley Social Club has announced that it will be taking part in the 'Warm Welcome Spaces' initiative.
The national campaign is designed to bring people together in a friendly and supportive environment, providing an opportunity to meet new people in a warm and safe space.
A campaign spokesperson explained: “The Warm Welcome Campaign wants to enable a more deeply connected society where we all have free access to welcoming community spaces.
“We’re working hard to reach everyone with a message that a Warm Welcome is waiting for you just around the corner, all through the year.”
Starting from the first week of November, Treburley Social Club will open its doors every Monday morning from 9am to midday, also offering free tea and coffee to all visitors.
The club has expressed that it also plans to create an fun environment, in which visitors can relax with a drink or get involved in a variety of activities, including board games, a pool table, darts, and a skittle alley.
Meanwhile, those who prefer a quieter morning, there’s always the option to simply relax with a hot drink by the cozy log burner – a perfect spot to escape the chill as winter approaches.
A spokesperson from the club said: “The entire community is warmly invited to drop by, enjoy a warm beverage, and take the opportunity to connect with neighbours. It’s a wonderful way to make new friends, share stories, and combat loneliness, bringing a sense of togetherness and warmth to our town.”
During the November sessions, committee members from the social club will be on hand to host these sessions, ensuring a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Whether you're up for a chat or just looking to unwind with a cup of tea, you’ll find a friendly space waiting for you.
A club spokesperson added: “The social club is always looking for new members, and these Monday mornings are a great time to come along, see what the club has to offer, and consider joining. The club looks forward to welcoming everyone!”
