FOR many members of Launceston YFC the past few months have had a common cause — pantomime, and on Sunday, January 25 they ventured down to the Hall for Cornwall in Truro to compete in the Cornwall YFC county pantomime final, with 'Snowy Spice and the Seven Short-ish Blokes'.

After getting through from initial rounds, with Launceston performing at Liskeard Town Hall a fortnight earlier, all three finalists were at a very high standard.

After a long afternoon and much deliberation by the judging panel Launceston was awarded first place, which the club has described as an 'absolutely fantastic' achievement.

Oliver Stephens was also awarded the trophy for Best Male Performance, an excellent individual accomplishment, and the club's producer/director Andrew Hosking was awarded the title of Best Producer.

Launceston will now go through and represent Cornwall at the South West Area regional round.
