LEWDOWN Cricket Club are proud to host their first representative game at the Recreation Field when Cornwall over 50s take on the Tamar League over 45s as a curtain raiser to the new season on Sunday April 26.
The event will start at 2.00 and all are welcome at the club, which has undergone significant improvements both on and off the field in recent years with the building of a new pavilion and the gaining of both ECB Clubmark and Focusclub status, together with the welcome addition of ex-England player and coach Peter Lever to the coaching staff.
Lewdown are also proud to note that old boy Kyle Abbott, the overseas player from the 2006 season, has recently made his first class debut for Natal Dolphins in South Africa, returning excellent bowling spells in both innings but being out twice to none other than current Test player Andre Nel!
For the forthcoming season Lewdown are pleased to announce the signing of ex Cornwall player Kris Harris as a new addition to the squad. Kris works as a teacher at Okehampton College and the club hope to further build upon the work that it does in developing cricket in local schools.
There are two net sessions left before the season starts at Okehampton College. Any players, senior and junior, keen to come to indoor nets or become a member of the club will be made more than welcome.
