AS A follow up to Devon Communities Together’s ‘Ideas Factory’ consultation in Holsworthy they will be offering a volunteer management training course.

The training course will be held in Holsworthy’s Memorial Hall from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on March 23.

A spokesperson said: “We are pleased to be able to offer free volunteer management training. These events are organised by Devon Communities Together as part of their Community Unity project. It is open to all residents of Holsworthy and the surrounding districts.”

The intention of the volunteer management training is to support increased volunteering in general and to link all local organisations with volunteers.

The training is aimed at groups and individual volunteers within Holsworthy and people can learn about the skills needed to become a good volunteer leader.

Content includes, identifying volunteer roles and preparing for volunteers, recruiting volunteers, induction of volunteers, how to retain and celebrate volunteers and how to part ways with volunteers. Each course is offered free of charge.
