TEIGNMOUTH'S new £2.5 million Wetherspoon pub will do its utmost to deter unwelcome guests – both human and the feathered variety.

A silent humane weapon is being employed to scare off pesky seagulls who delight in snatching food off plates, a device that gives a high pitched sound which frightens the birds, but is undetectable to people.

And any human troublemakers will be banned for life.
