Sir, I thank you for inserting my letter of March 6 in the Tenby Observer in which I expressed my delight at the prospect of a Greenhill Reunion for the over 45s, as I had very much enjoyed meeting many of my wartime contemporaries in the previous 1987 reunion. As to be expected, I only met a small handful of acquaintances this time, but was pleased to meet a few others in town who had not bothered with the reunion. In the letter printed in the paper of March 6, I had referred to the fact that I had never seen the 'new' Greenhill School, the result of which I received a kind invitation from the head, Mrs. J. Kingston, for my wife and myself to visit her and the school when next in Tenby. As a result, we visited the school last Monday, June 8, and were duly impressed. As our appreciation of this kind gesture, I would very much like you to kindly print and so record our impression of this visit. We were warmly met by the head, Mrs. J. Kingston, who had kindly and thoughtfully arranged three students to help and act as our guide for the school walkabout. We were impressed by the building and its location, including the lay-out of classrooms arranged within Faculty subjects and was invited to speak to students in an English classroom. The students were all nicely turned out and attentive and the room itself featured most aptly an excellent display of 'visual aids.' A real credit we thought to staff members and head. Our visit ended in the head's study for coffee and cake, together with our three student guides and other staff members. As a souvenir, we were kindly given a photograph of the school and also a personal one to include all those present. This became the highlight of our week's visit to my birthplace, Tenby.
