Rural tradition and good old fashioned family summer fun returns to Camelford for the 115th time this year with the upcoming annual nuptials that is the Camelford Agricultural Show on Wednesday, August 9.

Held at Trevilla, Marshgate, this year’s event promises to literally have something for everyone, with the usual livestock fare complimented with trade stands, a food hall, a craft tent, a dog’s tent with children’s sport included and a vintage fair all surrounding a central entertainment area.

It wouldn’t be the usual Camelford Fair affair without the young farmers, who will be out in force throughout the event culminating in the notorious tug-of-war forming part of the day’s events.

Tickets for the full day’s show are priced at £12 for adults, £6 for children aged under 16 and free for toddlers aged under four.

A free bus will be in operation throughout the event and available to shuttle show visitors between the bus stop on Clease Road in the town to the showground at Marshgate while there is also parking at the showground.

A spokesperson for Camelford and District Agricultural Association said: “We can’t wait to be back for the 115th year of hosting the Camelford show and we’re really looking forward to seeing visitors both regular and new.

“This year we are delighted to welcome our new show presidents, who are Mr and Mrs Michael and Hilary Coombes, while our vice presidents for 2023 are Mr and Mrs David and Pam Langley.

“The show will feature something for everyone and promises to be a terrific day which will include the young farmers tug of war and our usual livestock as well as trade stands. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, August 9!”
