Colour, costumes and community fun were the order of the weekend in St Breward, as locals dressed up in all manner of costumes and joined together for the annual St Breward Carnival.

Everything from princesses to pleas for a new community shop were on display as the creativity of the residents of the Bodmin moor village joined together in the name of tradition.

For many of the youth, it was chance to emulate their favourite cartoon characters, ranging from Ariel in the Little Mermaid as demonstrated by Laura (left), or a sea horse in the form of Jake (bottom right).

Kevin Foster used the opportunity of dressing up as a chance to plea with his fellow locals for help in reviving the recently closed community shop, with his costume choice of netting and various wrappers and tins certainly catching the eye.

Fun had by all? You bet.
