LAUNCESTON Rotary Club has donated £500 to the Barefoot Volunteers.
The donation was given to organise a one-day arts and crafts event in Priory Park.
The Barefoot organisation has hosted the Launceston Graff Jam for the past three years and enjoys a growing response from the community.
The event enables children and adults to take home their own piece of art or contribute to a large communal piece.
Rotary secretary Sandra Maizels presented the cheque to Barefoot Volunteers’ events organiser Dorian Weeks.
Launceston Rotary Club has also helped the town library to enhance its facilities.
The club has been in several discussions with Mrs Andi Snook, the head of Launceston Library and her staff to see what help Rotary could give to enhance the facilitie there, especially those for local children.
The library intends to use the popular Lego toy as an educational tool for children.
Rotarian Alan Maizels presented the cheque to two members of the library staff, Sandra Littlejohns and Lindsay Hartgroves.
