THE application for a foodstore at Camelford on land at Culloden, Victoria Road, has finally been submitted and registered.
Cornwall Council have 13 weeks in which to determine the application (unless an extension of time is agreed), and it is hoped an outcome will be established by the end of June.
Whilst the plan has reduced in size since its initial consultation showing, it will however remain sufficiently big enough to serve Camelford and the surrounding villages/hamlets. To give an idea of its size by comparison, it is approximately the same size as the Sainsbury's in Bodmin, or two thirds of the size of the Tesco at Wadebridge.
There is no confirmed operator at this stage but Walker Development are in the process of contacting the food retailers to seek expressions of interest.
