TORRENTIAL rain over the weekend caused severe flooding across parts of the Post area.
Flood alerts were issued by the Met Office as wet weather was set to hit Cornwall and Devon this weekend.
Rivers became swollen, with areas in Devon such as Dipper Mill in Shebbear and Sheepwash bridge being affected, as well as areas in Hatherleigh caught out by the rising River Torridge.
In Cornwall the River Neet in Bude was seen to be particularly high and fast flowing as were a number of other stretches of water in the county.
The roads were also treacherous in parts with a number of vehicles requiring assistance to escape the deep water that settled on a number of rural roads including the route between Bradworthy and Milton Damerel and stretches of road near North Petherwin.
