CYCLISTS will no longer have to take their life in their hands while crossing the busy A38 dual carriageway at Heathfield.
A new £1.8 million bridge will soon be completed, to give a safe crossing for cyclists on the popular route from Newton Abbot to Bovey Tracey.
There is a gap in the central reservation, but with vehicles travelling at speed in the four lanes, only the brave – and the quick – have used it. The other alternative, around the Drumbridges roundabout, is also hazardous.
