HALWILL Primary School has cause for celebration after being told it is in the top two per cent across England for the Key Stage 2 SAT scores.

Headteacher David Jones recently received a letter from Rt Hon David Laws MP, minister of state for school, con­gratulating the school on "the excellent perfor­mance of the pupils".

Also in the letter, Mr Laws said: "Mastery of English and mathematics is critical to success at secondary school and beyond, so these pupils now have a rally good start for the next stage of their education."
