The Mayor of Tenby has praised the work done by a local charity organisation after attending their recent charter dinner.

Speaking at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, Mayor, Clr. Paul Rapi, told his colleagues that he had attended the Tenby and District Lions Club 38th annual Charter Dinner at the town's Giltar Hotel recently.

"It was a lovely evening and I thanked the Lions members for the outstanding work and commitment they give to Tenby," he said.

"I heard that what they fund-raise alone during their paella night in Tenby in the summer, is more than what their whole district makes!" continued the Mayor, with Clr. Mike Evans offering further praise.

"Their work alone for the Carten event down the harbour was just wow! It shows what can be done with 13 eager volunteers and a bit of community spirit," he remarked.
