Dear Editor,

VE Day Celebrations People of Ross – Where were you? Only about 30 of us at the most turned up for the fantastic celebration at the bandstand organised by the British Legion on the evening of May 8th.

Paul Carpenter, who is a Frank Sinatra tribute act, entertained us from 7.30 - 9.00pm with an amazing selection of the great man's hits. At 9pm the beacon was lit, the last post was sounded and the British Legion even provided us with the words and music to sing Land of Hope and Glory. Admittedly it was a damp and chilly evening but where was the British spirit we are known for?

Thank you, British Legion.

Penny Comley, Ross
