IT was cheers all round as the transfer of Buckfastleigh's swimming pool was rubber-stamped by Teignbridge councillors on Tuesday.

After fears that delays in the transfer to the Friends of Buckfastleigh Swimming Pool could jeopardise a £75,000 Sport England grant it was put to the executive committee at Forde House, Newton Abbot as a matter of urgency.

Friends chairman Pam Barrett said: 'It's such a relief, we've had the whole town waiting to hear this news. After such a high getting the Sport England money, and then to have delays, there have been a lot of sleepless nights.
