RESIDENTS of the Bude Community Network Panel have been encouraged to find out more about a rural community transport scheme, and are due to plan matters at the Community Network Panel’s meeting on July 11.
Cllr Edwina Hannaford, Cornwall Council’s planning portfolio holder, and Phil Mason, head of planning and enterprise for Cornwall Council, will attend the meeting to discuss the latest developments in the planning service.
As well as this, they will be answering questions from the panel and the public on general planning matters and the Local Plan, which is the blueprint for development in Cornwall.
Martin Prentice will also be on hand to discuss the rural community transport scheme, and the possible expansion of Holsworthy’s existing transport, which could potentially be extended to cover North East Cornwall.
The panel will also consider applications for the Local Devolution Fund, which can be used to help local councils and organisations take on the running of services and properties in the network area, as well as supporting local partnership working.
Cllr Nicky Chopak of Cornwall Council, who is also the chair of Bude Community Network Panel, said: “The meeting is a chance to learn more about Holsworthy’s successful community transport scheme, and what is could mean for the Bude area if the scheme expands.
“People will also be able to put their questions about planning matters to Edwina Hannaford and Phil Mason, so this should be a lively and interesting session.”
The Bude Community Network Panel meets quarterly to discuss matters that affect the local area, and to agree priorities that can be delivered by Cornwall Council and partners such as the police and health services.
Some of the areas that the network focuses on include anti-social behaviour, economic development, the environment, community planning, regeneration, conservation, community safety, and transport and highway issues.
Bude Community Network Panel includes all four Cornwall Councillors for the area and representatives of the eleven parishes in the community network. The meeting will take place on Monday, July 11, from 7pm until 9pm in the Conference Room, the Parkhouse Centre, Bude.
