POLICE have arrested a second person in connection to an assault in Launceston.
Officers were called at 11.40pm on July 2 to the Asda petrol station in Launceston, following a report that two men had been assaulted by the forecourt.
It was reported that one of the victims had sustained a stab wound to his head, which is not being treated as life-threatening or changing. Both victims were also believed to have been punched causing facial injuries.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson confirmed: “On Wednesday, a 20-year-old man from Launceston has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 causing grievous bodily harm with intent and theft from a shop. He has been released on police bail until September 19.
“On Thursday, a 21-year-old man from Launceston was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 causing grievous bodily harm with intent and theft from a shop. He remains in police custody at this time.”
Sector Inspector Greg Hodgkiss said: “I understand that an incident of this nature will cause concern within the community, but I can reassure you that we are treating this as an isolated incident.
“Enquiries have been ongoing over the past two days in relation to this report and these will continue as the investigation progresses.
“I urge anyone who has any information which may assist us, along with any dash-cam or doorbell footage to please get in touch.”
