Cornwall Councillor for Bude, Peter La Broy publicised on his Facebook profile today (June 18) that a meeting is due to take place to announce plans for Stratton Hospital’s new Community Treatment Centre.

This is a new model of operation at Stratton Hospital, where the MIU will be operating as an enhanced service, which is intended to be a 24 hour service from August this year.

The new plan comes after the Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust decided to temporarily close Stratton Hospital’s MIU overnight service in December 2018.

According to Cllr La Broy’s post, the Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee of Cornwall Council will be presented with with a report from NHS Partners that announces a new model of operation at Stratton Hospital. The meeting is due to take place on Wednesday, July 3 where the confirmation is due to take place.

Cllr La Broy was thankful to those involved in the project. He said: “This new model of service is an ambitious and collaborative project which will provide an enhanced level of healthcare for us. This announcement is the result of many hours of meetings, lively discussions and leadership from Councillor David Parsons and I am delighted to offer my gratitude and thanks to all those who came forward and expressed their feelings about our hospital, which has helped to influence this incredibly positive outcome.”
