MAY I use your letters page to inform the communities involved that the Berry Hill community orchard project is holding its first community event day on Friday, May 15 from 3pm until 7.30pm?

We would encourage anyone with an interest to come along and give your ideas for the site on the Forestry Commission's land below the Primary school field.

You are also welcome to bring a spade or a rake as the Commission will be there to assist us in a spot of 'balsam bashing'.

This intrusive plant is being removed as the first step in developing the orchard.

All ages and skills welcome, come for an hour or all afternoon.

A huge thankyou to the committee at Suntory, Coleford for its kind and thoughtful donation to the project.

I would also like to take this opportunity to express my own personal and sincere thanks to the people of Berry Hill for re electing me to district council last week.

It really is a honour to represent the community and I hope to do the role justice.
