Pembrokeshire County Council has offered Mr. Ian Westley the post of chief executive.

Mr. Westley is currently the authority's acting head of paid service, a position he has held since the departure of the previous chief executive, Mr. Bryn Parry-Jones, towards the end of last year.

The offer was made following a three-hour extraordinary meeting of the council on Friday when a shortlist of candidates was interviewed.

The post carries a salary of £130,000.
