Sainsbury's Tenby has announced that PATCH will be the store's local charity of the year. The charity was voted in by customers in store and online.
The PATCH charity has been operational since June 2008 and has been giving free food parcels, clothing and household items to those in a financial crisis in Pembrokeshire. They work closely with referral agencies to help those that are experiencing hardship through perhaps a delay in benefits, fire, theft and escaping emergency situations
To celebrate the announcement, a launch day will take place at the Tenby store on Friday, July 31, with a bag pack and trolley food donation. Customers will get a chance to meet representatives from the charity and learn more about the work they do. The store team will also be fundraising for the new charity by completing a sponsored walk up Snowdon in June 2016 also helping with their Christmas Toy Appeal and other events.
Tracey Ollin from PATCH, said: "We're absolutely thrilled to be chosen as the Sainsbury's Tenby local charity of year. We can't wait to work together and raise the profile of our charity over the next year. Thank you to all the customers that voted for us, we really appreciate the support."
