STUDENTS at Okehampton College, which is part of the Dartmoor Multi-Academy Trust, are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results, as they get ready to take their next steps on their education journey.

Staff and students have come together to mark the achievements of all the students, who have worked exceptionally hard over the past couple of years to secure these grades. The whole College community is incredibly proud of its pupils, many of whom are now looking forward to progressing onto their post-16 education pathway whether that be at the College or elsewhere.

Alongside throughout the College, some individual highlights include: Andromeda who achieved eight grade nines and two grade eights, Alice who has achieved seven grade nines and two grade eights, Stanley who has achieved two grade nines, five grade eights, a grade seven, a grade six and a Distinction star as well as Betty, Kai and Jessica who achieved the highest progress within the year group.

Mrs Sally Banfield, vice principal said: “It has been wonderful to work with the Year 11s towards this end point of their GCSE journey. They have worked incredibly hard, and this has been reflected in the results they have received today. Everyone at Okehampton College is extremely proud of them and we wish them every success as they move into the next phase of their lives, be that in education or employment.

“Huge thanks must also go to all the families and staff who have supported them along the way.”

Mr Andrew Sweeney, principal added: “It has been excellent to see so many individual achievements across this year group through the exam results. So much hard work has paid off and every student should feel proud of what they have achieved. We are very proud of our students and it’s brilliant to be celebrating their achievements today”.

“I would like to thank all our students, their families, our staff and the wider Okehampton community for their ongoing support and we look forward to an exciting new academic year ahead, where together, we will support all our students to achieve and develop”.
