A NEW NHS dental practice in North Tawton, offering check-ups, fillings and dentures, crowns and additional complimentary services such as tooth whitening, has opened following a refurbishment of the premises backed by funding from Lloyds TSB Commercial.

Dr Gerald Abdoll was awarded the contract for Taw Valley Dental Care by the NHS, after the previous surgery in the area closed.

The new surgery is housed in a converted property, which meant Dr Abdoll needed financial support in order to carry out renovations.

He was offered a lending package from his bank to support the investment in a new surgery, waiting room and reception. It is expected that 2,500 patients will register at the practice in its first year.
